A few words to our future leaders
from a grouchy old man of no particular distinction
I have learned that some of you are readers of my efforts here. I hope you learn from them that our country needs to be saved, not that it is beyond saving. I have served beside young men and women like you, who swore an oath to fight and die, if necessary, to preserve the Constitution of the United States. I saw them daily carry out their obligations to Duty, Honor, Country naturally as if they were born doing it. I came to know that a graduate of your Academy was absolutely trustworthy. He or she was steeped in a long tradition of integrity and character. They chose the right decision even when it resulted in negative personal results.
Our country needs men and women like you now, maybe more than ever before. Honor your oath, maintain your integrity and character, lead from the front. I would rather share a foxhole with any one of you than with any politician who ever lived.
HOOAH!
