Internet Control. Unintended Consequences

I'm going to string several recent posts from the III side of the universe together and show you something that should certainly increase the pucker factor for all concerned.

As Mike points out, we are in their living dreams. (or nightmares) They cannot stop thinking about us. At RTC 4-19, the cameras literally never stopped and they couldn't take their eyes off of us. And right now, we III have a lot to say. As we're living rent-free inside their heads, I don't doubt that they are checking out blogs on this side of the world-trying to learn what they can. This is good news in that a rare few of them might have some sense injected into their brains. It's bad news in that what they learn now, they can use against us later.

So along comes the FCC with this plan to regulate broadband. And of course, the question on our side of how exactly we will continue to communicate when the internet is heavily regulated. Keep in mind that in Washington, everything is political. And don't forget Beck's dictum that dates back to at least 2005, "All politics in this country now is just dress rehearsal for civil war."

Finally, there's our friend, the law of unintended consequences.

Now, it's time for the proverbial Calvin and Hobbes colossal collision summed up in this open question aimed at the left.

If you're scared of the III% movement now while you can read about them, how scary will it be when they quit blogging-rather than happily submit to new regulation?

This is the logical end of the regulation being proposed. Understand this, "We're Not The NRA." We're not going to sell out the First Amendment thinking we'll protect Second. In George W. Bush terms, we're not going to destroy The Constitution so we can save it. We're not going to show up with empty holsters with permission slips tucked in the side. We're not going to submit to being sucker-punched at our gatherings. Or have our arms twisted by a Representative demanding to know who we are. The unintended consequence is that when there's nothing to talk about, then in general the talk stops and the action starts.

Your move.
