The New York Times Has Gone To War (and Guess Which Side
They're On?)
New York Times’ Front Page Announces U.S. Expansion of ‘Secret
Military Acts’ in Middle East

(CNSNews.com) – The New York Times, giving America’s friends and foes a
heads-up, reports that Gen. David Petraeus signed a “secret directive” in
September authorizing “a broad expansion of secret military activity” in the
Middle East.
Special Operations troops will go to “both friendly and hostile nations in the
Middle East, Central Asia, and the Horn of Africa to gather intelligence and
build ties with local forces,” said a report published online on Monday, May 24.
The report appears in Tuesday’s newspaper.
Gen. Petraeus’ order also “permits reconnaissance that could pave the way for
possible military strikes in Iran if tensions over its nuclear ambitions
escalate.”
The New York Times said it viewed a copy of Petraeus’ order, which it described
as classified, but there’s no word on who leaked the secret directive to the
newspaper.
“Guess it’s no big secret now,” one reader said in the newspaper’s comments
section. “[W]hatever happened to a little discretion by the media?”
“Tell the world why don't you? That's right, you just did,” another reader
commented.
According to the report, the U.S. military is directing “small teams of American
troops to fill intelligence gaps about terror organizations and other threats in
the Middle East and beyond, especially emerging groups plotting attacks against
the United States.”

In the former America it was illegal, unpatriotic, traitorous and unheard of to leak military secrets. Patriotic citizens would have stormed the Time's building and torn it down bare-handed. In today's America I suppose the Times will next print an article with names and locations of our Special Operations Forces, many of those brave men will be killed, the Times will win a Pulitzer and the fraud in the White House will go to Dover AFB and smirk while he pretends to salute the caskets.
I am trying really hard to handle each new situation with dignified restraint, but I just can't help thinking about the old motto that:
Sometimes Violence Is The Only Answer.
