That Explains Why He Said All Those Things

Early 2009            What is the General thinking? Look at his face.

Text excerpted from an article by Monica Crowley:

Shortly after President Obama assumed the Commander-in-Chief duties, he retired the existing commanding general in Afghanistan and hand-picked his successor: General Stanley McChrystal. McChrystal was always known as a brash and outspoken military man, an expert in counterinsurgency, greatly respected by the troops under his command, and as having little patience for fools. (Look at the photo and answer the question again.)

Wikipedia has what appears to be objective and accurate information on General McChrystal's military career. Note how much of his career was spent in Rangers, Special Forces, and Special Operations. This much career experience and command level experience is probably unique in the history of the U. S. military. I've also read that General McChrystal was known to go outside the wire on patrols with the troops now and then. If that's true, he's probably the first general since World War II's General Omar Bradley, "the GI's General" to share this part of the "11-bravo's life."
