Aiding and Abetting the Terrorists

Victor the Contractor wrote a really good article after reading in the Wall Street Journal that one of the planners of the 9/11 terrorist attack was released due to lack of evidence. We couldn't expect much more after the stupidity about a civil trial and the possibility of leaking classified information. This terrorist scumbag had better living conditions than the brave men and women who risked their lives to apprehend him. Our troops will probably encounter him again, in the field.

I've mentioned before that I'm a retired intelligence officer. I think I can make a fairly safe prediction right now, having been part of Uncle Sam's big green machine for 26 years. - It's a shame that we're going to lose a lot of potential intelligence information, but there will be a lot less prisoners being sent back for processing. The young guys at the pointy end of the green machine have seen how much trouble it is to capture and process a live jihadi. Then the sonovabitch charges you with giving him a fat lip and you're in deep shit while the POTUS kisses the guy's ass and makes him an honorary citizen. It's so much easier to just put a round through the guy's head and continue the mission.

Eventually higher headquarters is going to notice the trend and some poor staff officer weenie is going to get stuck writing a report about it. I hope he has a sense of humor. - "Statistics show that the recidivism rate among deceased terrorists is so low as to approach insignificance. Further, we have noted a profound decrease in the number of complaints of unnecessarily rough treatment of prisoners by U.S. personnel, thus indicating that mandatory sensitivity training has had a beneficial effect."
