If necessary, I would consider becoming an insurgent against the federal government,

except that I once worked for the federal government in counter-insurgency.

This is what they called "counter-insurgency from 30,000 feet".

A "cell" of three of these B-52s each dropped 108 mark82 500 pound bombs into a rectangular
"box" on the ground about 1,000 yards wide by 2000 yards long. Nothing in the box survived.

The counter-measure to avoid this kind of air-strike is to avoid congregating your
forces in large groups that make a tempting target. Stay dispersed as much as
possible and when you are in groups, stick close to the enemy or his own
high-value targets such as power plants, water pumping stations, bridges, etc.
Just pick something that he wouldn't be willing to destroy to blow you up.

I never thought I'd see the day when backing the U.S. Constitution would be extremism.

  Wouldn't things work a lot better if all these people who hate the U.S. so much just went somewhere else?
