| Air Force intelligence has always had a role in helping aircrews
to plan their missions. We helped them pick a safe course around and
through the enemy defenses, and also had some expertise with the
JMEM manuals to help them select the right weapons and settings to
"kill" the target and minimize collateral damage. Anti-military liberals would be AMAZED at just how much trouble the good guys go through to avoid harming innocent civilians. Meanwhile, terrorists achieve their primary objective of causing terror precisely by the act of harming innocent civilians. And the liberals probably praise them as "oppressed freedom-fighter". Go figure.

The Air Force sent many pilots and weapon system operators to post-graduate training in fighter weapons employment. They wore this patch on their flight suits as proudly as a high school athlete wears his letter.
