Fireball alley: 127th Nato fuel truck is blown up in a WEEK as Pakistan leaves our fuel convoys as sitting ducks for the Taliban

Whose Side is Pakistan on?

By Wil Longbottom

The closed crossing point and the attacks are taking place at the famous "Khyber Pass".

Our friends and allies, the Pakistanis, to whom we and the British give much civilian and military aid money and goods, have closed one of the most used border crossing points for our supply convoys.

The Taliban, which has a heavy concentration in the area, which we have tried in vain to get the Pakistanis to suppress, has taken advantage of the bottleneck to destroy the trapped trucks and their cargo.

The reason the Pakistanis closed the border crossing? A U.S. Army Apache Gunship was uniting some North Waziristan taliban with their 72 virgins when a pair of nearby Pakistani soldiers decided to notify the helicopter crew of their presence in the area. Not having a radio, they ingeniously chose the internationally recognized method of signaling friendly presence to an armed aircraft, they shot at it. Unfortunately, the aircrew had not read the SPINs, and they returned the ground fire, accurately.

The latest news I've heard is that we have apologized profusely for killing the 2 dickheads, have increased our aid package to Pakistan and have liberally greased the palms of every high-ranking asshole in the country. The border crossing is still closed while the Taliban blows up our fuel and supplies and they train commandos in Waziristan for the next big attacks in Europe or the U.S.

Read the Mail article and see more pictures if it's still online.

Pakistan is lucky that I'm just an old retired grump and not an influential politician. I grew up watching cowboy movies. No complicated plots. They could probably trace their origins to medieval morality plays. Good guys and bad guys. The good guys did good stuff and the bad guys did bad stuff. Towards the end of the movie there was a showdown, and the good guys killed the bad guys. I love a happy ending.

Watch your ass, Pakistan.
