Secretary of Transportation LaHood:
We’re looking into technology to disable cell phones in vehicles
|
By Jeff Winkler Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood said using a cell phone while
driving is so dangerous that devices may soon be installed in cars
to forcibly stop drivers — and potentially anyone else in the
vehicle — from using them.
No mention was made of cell phone usage in emergency situations to summon help, to report an accident, medical care needed, mechanical breakdown, etc. The Transportation Department is also looking into ways of preventing the other causes of distracted driving, which include: talking to passengers, listening to the radio, eating, tending to children, glancing at maps or directions, day-dreaming about the revolution, planning the agenda for your next right-wing terrorist meeting, and such.
