A blog I found...
A City at War With Itself: Chicago - Fast
Tracking To Anarchy
(Understanding the Organizational Paralysis
of the CPD and the Mission to Recovery)
A sad blog essay by an honest policeman
about life under corrupt leaders
in a crime-ridden city.

| I hope you read that whole horror story about the municipal
corruption from the mayor through the aldermen and down through the
police department supervisors. You should have a feel for the poor
morale among the policemen, and their inability to face down the
criminals and gangs who no longer fear the police. Where is the money that should be paying police salaries, hiring more officers and stopping unpaid furloughs and fixing broken patrol cars? I suspect it was spent on social programs for disadvantaged youths in the inner-city, the gang-bangers who are playing havoc with the city and the police. And remember something else - we're talking about Chicago, where mayor Daley absolutely will NOT allow citizens to possess a gun to defend themselves from home-invading criminals. Chicago, where guns are forbidden, but 303 people were shot in July, 2010. I wonder how much of the corruption, mayhem and dysfunction in Chicago was contributed by a well-known "community organizer" who used to live there. I understand that's one of their specialties. * *
Also take a look at the comments on this blog. It seems that the entire rank and file of the Chicago Police Department has high regard for this whistle-blowing lieutenant as an upright, honorable, "good cop". They're behind him and hoping the brass doesn't screw him. Keep in mind, as you read their comments, that everyone is anonymous. If they didn't genuinely respect and admire the Lt and appreciate what he's doing, they wouldn't be saying so. * *
I found both blogs by way of ricketyclick, and I found the latter while doing my daily read of Western Rifle Shooters Association.
There. I just wanted to give proper credit all around. You may want to bookmark Western Rifle Shooters. He has interesting articles and links every day, and the left hand column has an amazing library of downloadable documents and manuals that may save your life and your family when the balloon goes up and we have a natural or "man-caused" disaster.
