100 Swiss police can't catch retiree with gun
Grumpy Old Gunmen - New International Threat
| BIEL, Switzerland – Swiss police say they may have to change
tactics in their hunt for a fugitive gunman who shot and seriously
wounded one officer in the western city of Biel. Police commander Francois Gaudy told reporters Friday that officers had tried to avoid bloodshed "but this doctrine has its limits." Public anger in Switzerland is growing after police failed to apprehend 67-year-old Peter Hans Kneubuhl two days after he barricaded himself at home in a dispute over the house's sale. After holing up in the house Wednesday, Kneubuhl opened fire at police early Thursday and then successfully fled even as police surrounded the house. Some 100 police officers including SWAT teams, dog handlers and a helicopter equipped with heat-detecting cameras have been deployed to search for the man.
They're old, they're armed, they're angry. A generation of fed-up "silent majority" conservatives in Europe and America are shrugging off years of abuse and starting a campaign of retribution. Socialist governments in Europe, which regarded their citizens as "sheep" were taken by surprise. At first the uprising was derided as the revolt of the Pi$$ed-off Pensioners, but when the government casualties continued to mount in the mis-match, and when police and military forces put little effort into capturing or harming "their own family members", the governments began to worry. In the U.S., the majority of the aged insurgents happen to be Vietnam Veterans, many with combat experience and bitter memories of their "welcome home" from the very same people who are now governing the country in Washington D.C. Can the Grumpy old men, who have lived their whole lives in hot wars and the cold war fighting communism, run the socialists out of Washington?
