The Marx Brothers

A rare photo of Chico, Groucho, Harpo and Karl
| The Marx Brothers, mainly the 3 brothers Chico, Harpo and
Groucho, brought entertainment and great joy to millions in the 20th
century through their comedic acts in Vaudeville, on stage and in
numerous movies which continue in popularity. They were joined at
times by their more serious "straight men" brothers Zeppo and Gummo,
but the 3 "funny" brothers were the iconic Marx Brothers to their
adoring public.
Karl was the "black sheep" of the family, displaying no early skill or comedic talent, he departed to Europe where he studied dreary dead philosophies in Germany and England. He wrote a depressing book, died penniless in London and was buried by his few friends. The Marx brothers rode the golden age of slapstick comedy from the Vaudeville circuit to Television and became a household name in America.
