Compliments of Moonbattery.com:

The object collecting scuff marks from a insolent community activist’s shoes is the Resolute Desk. This historical treasure was presented to President Rutherford Hayes in 1880.

You can take a guy out of the ghetto, dress him in a suit, teach him to speak but you can’t take the ghetto out of the guy or teach him respect.

A sign of bad parenting. The first time I ever did something like that at home, my mother would have told me to put my feet on the floor where they belonged, then explained that shoes can damage furniture and gentlemen do not do such things. If I ever put my shoes on the furniture a second time I would have worn a red welt for a few days. I think mine was the last generation to grow up respecting and obeying our parents.
