Obama assassination plot uncovered in Indonesia

A plot to assassinate Barack Obama next month has been foiled. Much to the chagrin of Team Obama the conspiracy did not involve the Tea Party Movement, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, or angry white men. The plan in question was part of a major terror attack and attempted coup in Indonesia.

The Islamic terrorist organization known as al Qaeda Aceh was planning a number of attacks on August 17th which is Indonesia's Independence Day. The UK Telegraph reports.

"They planned to target the Indonesian president, state officials and foreign guests," national Police Chief Bambang Hendarso Danuri said at a press conference.

"Killing all the state officials would have accelerated the transition from a democracy to a state controlled by Islamic Shariah law."

After assassinating the president, the militants then planned to siege the palace and enact a coup.

"Their plan was also to launch attacks in Jakarta against foreigners - especially Americans - and attack and control hotels, imitating what happened in Mumbai," Mr. Danuri said.

The plot was foiled after local police stumbled upon a terrorist training camp in the northern province of Aceh in February of this year. Anti-terror police units conducted raids on terrorist hideouts based upon intelligence obtained from the interrogation of suspects arrested during the Aceh operation. The police arrested twenty suspected terrorists while also seizing a cache of firearms, ammunition, documents and the plans for the independence day attack.

Police sources also state that the group - suspected to be a splinter group from the al-Qaeda linked Jemaah Isaiah (JI) organization - also planned to assassinate Mr. Obama when he visits Indonesia next month, although this was not officially announced.

Mr. Obama rescheduled an earlier trip to Indonesia to remain in Washington and help force his toxic health care bill through congress. From 1968-1971 Mr. Obama, then known as Barry Soetoro lived in Jakarta and attended a local mosque with his adopted father. A statue of young Barry was removed from a public square in Jakarta earlier this year due to strong public opposition. It looks like there will be no triumphant homecoming for Barry.

For all of Mr. Obama's pandering to the Muslim world, the number of terrorist attacks and plots are gathering steam. A foreign policy of appeasement only serves to enable tyrants.

Has anybody on Team Obama heard of Neville Chamberlain?

Note: the reference(s) to the parties involved as "terrorists" are from the original source material quoted and we certainly would not prejudge the individuals by labeling them as such before they have had a fair trial by a jury of their peers as guaranteed by the U. S. Constitution, even though they are apparently citizens on Indonesia. We hope that their interrogation was conducted under legal supervision and caused them no undue discomfort. Any connection between this group of alleged terrorists and the international organization known as al-Qaeda which is often alleged to have tenuous connections with the Religion of Peace is yet to be proven.

The Defense shall prove at trial that the "Aceh 20" are nothing more sinister than a healthy group of devout young Muslim lawyers who were camping-out in Aceh province for recreational purposes, to improve their physical fitness and marksmanship while on holiday from their Shariah legal practice. They have been singled out and discriminated against for their skin color and their religion by the bigots of Indonesia, a nation of racist cowards.
