One of my favorite bookmarks is for a site called Backwoods Home Magazine, Practical Ideas for Self-reliant Living.

In addition to their online presence, they publish an actual paper magazine about forgotten skills and self-reliance.

Today, 02/04/10 they have what I consider a MUST READ article by Claire Wolfe titled Preparing for civil unrest.

I strongly urge you to carefully and thoroughly read her article. I believe that we will see civil unrest in this country within the next year or two. I pray that we will not, but it looks like it is inevitable. It may be in conjunction with or caused by an act of terrorism, by the collapse of the economy, food distribution problems, or a misguided attempt by the government to register or confiscate weapons. You can almost feel the stress in the seismic plates of American society. When the quake comes, it's going to be a big one.
