Tax Rumor

I just wanted to report a rumor that's circulating that the IRS may offer a new option on next year's form 1040 (for tax year 2010). The IRS is exploring the concept of allowing the taxpayer to designate how and where their taxes will be used. This has historically been the biggest objection to taxes by the typical taxpayer, that they disagreed, on grounds of politics or morals, with how their money was spent by the government.

The lengthy table of options for taxpayers to choose from on the new form will include items such as: 30mm High Explosive Incendiary rounds for the A-10's cannon, cases of small-arms ammunition for the Army and Marines, Wagyu beef for the president's table, booze for Nancy Pelosi's Gulfstream jet, travel expenses for congressmen and their male or female interns, and similar choices that should offer a suitable alternative for every taxpayer.
