At Red State

Another TSA Outrage

A B S U R D

A commercial charter bringing a planeload of GIs home from Afghanistan stops in Indianapolis to drop off 100 troops based there. All 330 troops are ordered to debark and remain in a secure room. When the time comes to reboard the plane, the armed troops are processed by the TSA.

Men in combat uniforms carrying M-4 carbines, M-9 pistols and M-240 machine guns are inspected by dipshit rent-a-cops who confiscate their nail clippers, pocket multi-tools and similar dangerous weapons.

In the Air Force, the person in charge of the planeload, usually the senior officer present, was called the "troop commander". I had that duty a couple of times and I cringed for the man who reported this story. The humiliation of the troops who had just come home from risking their lives for this nation was despicable. I don't know whether I would have borne it in silence or given an illegal order which would have resulted in physical injuries to the TSA agents.

Read the story.
